The latest on Star Plus, “Maati Se Bandhi Dor”, featuring Ankit Gupta as Rannvijay and Marathi actress Rutuja Bagwe as Vaiju, endeavors to provide audiences with a different mix of cultural and emotional narrative by highlighting the relativity, hardships, and cultural oddities of its characters. The show revolves around the bond between people and their roots, highlighting traditional Indian values. The show follows the journey of a family deeply connected to their land, emphasizing love, respect, and cultural heritage, while facing modern-day challenges.
The show’s unique setting, along with the riveting plots centred around its characters, more so on the lead pair of Vaiju and Rannvijay, shall attract the audience. This serial replaced the popular Star Plus show “Imlie”.
The serial launched on 27th May 2024 on Star Plus and will broadcast at 8:30 pm all 7 days a week.

Maati Sе Bandhi Dor is set against the picturesque backdrop of Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The serial tells the story of Vaiju and Rannvijay, which evolves into a saga of resilience, love, and ambition. It describes the life of Vaiju, a hardworking and visionary lady whose life turns unexpectedly after meeting Rannvijay and her consequent marriage to him.
The serial plans to hook the audience with the main protagonist of the serial, Vaiju, who finds her love in a loveless marriage and, at the same time, does not lose her grip on her dreams.
Story of the show
Maati Sе Bandhi Dor, set in Kolhapur, a beautiful city in Maharashtra, showcases the life of Vaiju, a farm worker who leads a life full of hardships and struggles to earn a living for her family. However, destiny has different plans for her. Vaiju is known for age-old family traditions and values, her conscientious work ethic, and aspirational goals of raising her level of living and upliftment of her village.
One fine day, while conversing, her mother pops up a marriage proposal. When Vaiju meets Rannvijay, the son of the Sarpanch, for the first time, she believes that he is her ideal bridegroom. But her hopes are soon dashed when Rannvijay says that he does not believe that he and Vaiju would make a good match because their perspectives differ.

Maati Se Bandhi Dor will air 7 days (Monday to Sunday) a week at 8.30 pm on Star Plus. Also, viewers can watch it on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar. The show was first aired on 27th May 2024.

This would be the first time he is working on a cultural-based show and playing the character of a Maharashtrian. He has learned Marathi to get into the skin of the character.
